CHARLOTTE, NC, September 5, 2016 – Overground, a demand generation and sales enablement agency, contributed again to Classroom Central’s back-to-school campaign by donating more than 2,000 supplies to “The Free Store” for teachers, doubling the donation from 2015. The organization’s largest program, “The Free Store” is open select weekdays during the academic year for teachers in local high-needs schools to shop for free school supplies for their students who cannot afford them. By donating backpacks and school supplies, Overground helped stock the shelves of the “Free Store,” which serves over 200 schools across six school districts.
“It was a privilege again this year to help Classroom Central continue their mission of providing students with what they need to learn,” says Eric Dudley, President of Overground, a B2B demand generation agency. “Our team really got into filling backpacks, knowing we were making a difference in the lives of children who are in need in our community.”
When teachers arrive at the “Free Store,” they are given a clipboard indicating the quantities of items available to take for free. Each shopping cart is worth $350 in free supplies. Solely dependent on individual donors and corporations, Classroom Central offers programs that help over 100,000 students in poverty. Beginning in early 2000, Classroom Central currently serves 80% of the students living in poverty in the region
